Doesn't matter what I say, doesn't matter what I do
In the end it's not me who decides, it's you
I'm just a puppet that shivers and swings
One of these days I'll hang myself by these strings.
They say it's a terrible thing, suicide
But if I never quite lived then they can't say I died
Even though I can't speak up, I'm a figure of wood-
Just because you can abuse power doesn't mean that you should.
Is it sad that I often find myself wishing for wings?
Reality is, you've tied me down with these strings.
I wrote this last night ;D A non-prompted poem for a change. Hope you guys enjoy this little short one~~
And no, don't worry about moi, I'm not actually suicidal. :P I just get... morbid sometimes. XD
Feedback is my everything ;)

Once again, I love how you rhyme things...you make it sound so natural, so very unforced. I am in love, love love with this line:

I'm just a puppet that shivers and swings

One of these days I'll hang myself by these strings.

Gave me chills picturing myself as a broken marionette puppet, hanging all tangled with someone tightening the strings around my neck... *shiver* I hate dolls... so it's creepy for me, but anyway... I love the poem, one of my favorites from you. It's good that you don't actually feel this way though, when I was writing my more morbid pieces, I actually felt what I was writing... so it makes the poem even better knowing you don't feel that way, but you can make me think that you do!
